My Favorite Kids’ Birthday Gift

It seems like birthday party “season” is upon us. Not sure if everyone whooped it up for New Year’s or what, but we always have a slew of kids’ birthay parties to attend in September and October. Sometimes, I tailor the gift to the child, if we know the child really well. But other times, I look for the “perfect” birthday gift for the season, and order up a few of them so they’re ready to go.

My favorite birthday gift this season for the 6-8 year-old set is a doodle book and colored pencils. But not just any doodle book and colored pencils. These are something special!

These are not your ordinary doodle books! There are unfinished pictures inside with instructions, like “what’s in the magic forest?”, or “finish the treehouse”. It’s a springboard for creativity and imagination.

Now, wrap one of these up with a set of colored S’mencils, and it’s a unique, fun gift that will have kids and parents saying “Thank you!” These are scented pencils made of recycled newspaper. They are colored, for more exciting doodles, and each has its own yummy scent, like bubble gum, cotton candy or grape. They sharpen just like regular pencils. Very fun!
