Spring 2011 Fashion – A Few of my Favorite Things

Spring is nearly here – I can see it in our garden and feel it in the warmth of the sunshine.  Every day I get a new catalog or magazine with trends for Spring 2011.  I’m not the first to rush out and buy the latest, but there are a few things that have caught my eye. Wide leg trousers:

Flared Cotton Trousers

How cute are these?!?  Found them at Boden on sale for $79 (with free shipping and free returns) – what a deal!  They come in 4 colors, but white is definitely my fave.  Click on the photo above to get the sale price and free shipping.

Wedge sandals in a go-with everything shade of nude:

Found this darling shoe by Dolce Vita on my favorite shoe website, Endless.com, for $128.25.  The great thing about Endless is they offer free shipping and returns always, so if the shoes don’t fit, it’s easy to send them back!  You can shop their site HERE, or click on the photo above to go to these wedges.

A statement earring in hammered gold:

These are also available at Endless.com, by Kenneth Cole.  They are the “Urban Horn” chandelier earrings and sell for only $35. What a deal!

I saw this Elaine Turner handbag the other day, and was captivated by the cork fabric – so cute and fresh for spring!

It’s selling for $295 on ebags right now (click photo to go to website).  It’s a bit of a splurge, but because of the neutral color, you could carry it all spring and summer-long with just about any outfit.

Finally, I like a splash of color now and then.  And I’m super excited that maxi dresses are back in for spring!  I just bought this tropical maxi dress from Boden, and the fit is AMAZING!  I am so excited to wear this!

Boden Tropical Maxi Dress

It’s on sale right now for $115.20, with free shipping and free returns (and no sales tax, too!)  This photo, while lovely, does not do the dress justice.  Seriously, I put it on, and my daughter and husband both said how amazing it looked!  So cute with a little wrap for the cooler spring evenings.

All righty…bring on the sunshine!

25% off at Mini Boden

Ready to get a jump on your holiday shopping?  Check out this great deal from Boden:

Through Wedensday, 9/29, get 20% off Boden Men’s and Women’s clothes, and get 25% off Mini Boden and Johnnie b!

25% off Mini Boden is hard to resist!  They have some really cute, sweet things for little girls.  We especially love their t-shirts and lightweight outerwear (the heavier coats are really too heavy for where we live).  One of our favorite items is the teddy zip-through:

My daughter has had this for almost 3 years, and it still looks new!

Since my daughter is an animal lover, there are lots of great tops to choose from.  The retro print tee is super cute and comes in a poodle, cat or bunny print:

I will admit that the pants are not a favorite at our house.  I think they are super cute and well-made, but for some reason, my daughter just doesn’t prefer them.  I’ve heard this from other moms, too, and we’re all baffled about it!

This 25% off deal is only good until Wednesday.  Enjoy!

I See London, I See France…

You know the rest of that rhyme.  Well, no more, thanks to Monkeybar Buddies!  These are the new favorite garment around the Real OC House.  I bought them for my daughter in black and white, and I think we’ll be stocking up on all the fun colors soon!

These are so cute and comfy, and just perfect to wear under skirts, dresses, and school uniforms.  They also work well over leotards for dance or gymnastics.  They don’t cling, bulk, or bunch up.  But they do fit snugly around the legs so there’s no embarassing gapping.  Help keep your daughter comfy while she’s at circle time, on the playground, or just running around.

And the little gingham bow detail at the side – SO cute!

Note:  I’m an Amazon affiliate, so I do earn a very small amount (less than $1) on any monkeybar buddies purchased through my store.  But I purchased our own monkeybar buddies and decided to include them in my store because I love them and think they are a great product!

New clothing designer – great for moms!

One of my favorite little clothing boutiques in Orange County, Five Seas on Balboa Island, is carrying a new clothing line not found anywhere else in the OC.  It’s part spa-wear, part beach-wear, and completely comfortable and stylish – so perfect for busy moms this summer!
small_shortswithhood.jpgCandace Kelly is a former model and a mom of three young children.  She was raised in Kansas City, and has lived in Miami, New York and London.  She and her family now reside in Malibu, where they enjoy the relaxed, casual lifestyle.   She wanted to live in beach attire, but felt other designers had missed the mark.  She decided to design garments that made women feel comfortable and sexy, that would go from beach to errands to lunch, and that would withstand life with active and sandy kids.

Together with her sister-in-law Erin Kelly, a 20-year veteran of the garment industry, Candace started the Candace Kelly clothing line.  And now we lucky gals have access to her chic beach styles right here!  I heard about the new line and headed over to Five Seas so I could see the clothes in person.  Right now, Five Seas is carrying the “Sandy Lane Strapless” (http://www.candacekelly.com/shop/sandy-lane-strapless), the “Georgica Jumpsuit” (http://www.candacekelly.com/shop/georgica-jumpsuit) and the Harbor Island Halter (http://www.candacekelly.com/shop/harbour-island-halter).  How can you not love those names?!?  The designs are all made from a soft terry fabric, and they fit really well.  Suzanne, the owner of Five Seas describes the Candace Kelly line as “a cross between Juicy Couture and Tory Burch – it’s all about comfortable, stylish beach living”.  I tried on the romper and, though I don’t typically love shorts, I felt very sporty and sexy in it!

So, if you’re looking for a go-to piece for your summer wardrobe, head over to Five Seas and check out this exciting new designer.  Who knows…a Candace Kelly romper may just become your favorite thing to wear all summer long!
